DOOLITTLE'S RAIDERS Autographed 8 x 10 photo
$250
This is an 8 x 10 matted photo of the Statue of Liberty autographed by 5 WWII heros, the pilots and crew known as Doolittle's Raiders. After the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, a daring American plan was hatched to bomb the Japanese capital of Toyko and the cities of Kobe, Nagoya, Yokohama and Osaka.  Col. James H. Doolittle and 80 other airmen did something never tried before by taking off from the deck of an aircraft carrier with bombers. Flying from the USS Hornet, in April of 1942, they successfully completed their mission knowing they would not have enough fuel to fly back. 74 of the 80 were able to make it back after crash landing their planes. Another amazing story of WWII heroism displayed by "The Greatest Generation." The photo is signed along with their pertinent information. Another great piece of history.

First Flag Raising, Autographed by Medal of Honor winner Jacklyn "Jack" Lucas & photographer Charles W. Lindbergh
$350
This is an amazing piece of American history! An 8x10 b/w photo of the first flag raising on Iwo Jima in 1945; while the popularly-known scene of the flag raising was staged sometime after the original, this photo is of the actual first flag raising. It is autographed by the photographer, Charles W. Lindbergh who added the date and time. It is also autographed by an extraordinary Marine, Medal of Honor recipient Jacklyn "Jack" Lucas, who lied about his age and in 1942 joined the Marine Corp at an amazing 14 years old. He went AWOL and was declared a deserter but in reality, wanting to fight, he had stowed away aboard a troop ship transporting units of the 5th Marine Division into combat. He turned 17 while at sea and was hitting the beach at Iwo Jima a few days later. Just 6 days after his birthday he dove on TWO grenades to save his buddies and miraculously survived. He eventually underwent 21 surgeries. For the rest of his life, there remained about 200 pieces of metal, some the size of 22 caliber bullets, in his body — which set off airport metal detectors. The desertion charge was lifted and he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism. He died at the ripe old age of 80 in 2008. He also received a Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze star and the World War II Victory Medal. A true American hero.
